WHY I CARRY ON!
Several years ago, an elderly (70ish) woman living alone, close to me, was stabbed to death in her living room. Three boys (15-16) broke through her living room window and stabbed her, “to see what it was like.” Video games may have played a part in their desire “to get the feelin’.” After the fact, I heard all sorts of “nice” things about her; how wonderful she was. WHY WOULD ANYONE DO THIS TO HER? WE CARRY ON BECAUSE OF THE LOVE SHE SHOWED.
The late Sen. Edward (Ted) Kennedy said:
“As you know so well, the passage of time, never really heals the tragic memory of such a loss, but we carry on. Because we have to; because our loved ones would want us to; because there is still light in the world from the love they gave us.” WE CARRY ON!
The tragic stabbing of the woman, left us with the memories of a very kind, gentle and good woman. I knew: “THERE IS STILL LIGHT IN THE WORLD FROM THE LOVE SHE GAVE.”
The Kennedy family and all they have gone through: “THERE IS STILL LIGHT IN THE WORLD FROM THE LOVE THEY GAVE.”
Jesus in Luke 23 went before the authorities of His time, and was found to be innocent of all charges but still crucified; gave Himself to die for all mankind. “God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, Jesus, so that all who would believe in Him, could have Everlasting Life.”
I carry on because I have found that Jesus’ has a great love that permeates my whole life. He has become my friend, and the lover of my soul. All I have ever wanted or needed, He has been able to provide for me. Peace and understanding, knowledge and some wisdom have all been gifts to me.
WE CARRY ON BECAUSE THERE IS STILL LIGHT IN THE WORLD FROM THE LOVE HE GIVES US. WE CARRY ON!
