THE WAY! THE JOURNEY…

THE JOURNEY….OF LIFE

We are all on a journey. Our journeys are somewhat different from one person to the next, but we are all on a journey.

Acts 27-28 Paul goes on a journey with some 200 plus (of his closest friends) people. The ship sails from Caesarea to Italy (Rome) and the journey was not easy. The wind (of adversity) was continually slowing their journey but….in the end they make it. 27:4 “winds were contrary”; 27:7 “sailed slowly…and with difficulty…wind did not permit us to go farther”, etc.

IT WAS A VERY DIFFICULT JOURNEY TO GO AGAINST THE WIND.  Acts 27:41 says the ship even broke up, and yet (27:44)”…they were all brought safely to land.” This is, indeed, GOOD NEWS!

Our journey may seem very hard, almost like we can’t make it any more. We just feel like we want to “give up.” Yet in the midst of all the struggles, trials, problems thrown at us, our desire to continue on is rewarded with “safety at the end of the journey.”

How much we can learn in the journey we each walk. In all the difficulties that life does throw at us, we can find spots “along the still waters” where we can see what has been in the past, and help to encourage us to continue on to the end of the great journey; the great race.

Hebrews 13:5 God says, “I will never leave you, nor forsake you.” When we get to feeling like we are all alone on this journey, we can KNOW that God is with us and He will keep us. What if God says, “most of the time” or “some of the time.” In all the windstorms of this journey, God is with us…we will never leave us.

Pastor Mike mentioned one time about putting God in a box on the shelf and pulling Him down from time to time when we need Him. God says, “I am with you right now, whatever you are going through at this very moment…I AM WITH YOU!” “I will never leave you nor forsake you.

Someone had stitched “The footprint” work. I saw two sets of footprints along the shore and then only one set. Asking what happened to the other, the reply was, “You were weary and struggling, and I carried you.

This is the work of Christ in our lives. When the going gets “really tough,” then we can KNOW that God is right there beside us, ready to walk us through whatever we face. WE ARE NOT ALONE!

So enjoy your journey, and let’s walk together.
