A long time ago, and far away, I started something that might be helpful for you.
I found myself looking through the “obits” of the paper and noticing all the people younger than me. I thought that was amazing. Many of us don’t notice until age catches up to us.
I realized that I had much to be very thankful for, and I started a little habit that I so enjoy everyday and continually in my life. There is no “Patent Pending” so if you like it, do it. Sounds like a commercial.
I started this in a small time period when I first woke up and realized I was alive, and before my feet hit the floor. This is what I did:
1. I said to myself, “You are alive!…This is going to be a GREAT DAY!” (I had read all those “obits” of people who could not say this….and further more….many of them were experiencing the “worst” day of their lives.)
2. I ACKNOWLEDGED GOD. I said …”thank you God for ….; I acknowledge you for being the Creator/provider/healer/sustainer….many things…” Just something that would come to mind. This week one day I just thanked Him for the rain…which we needed, and I have so far, failed at producing on my own.
Then I put my feet on the floor and begin my day. It will take you a whole minute or so….depends on how pressed you are for time. I have been doing it everyday now for a long time, and it seems like my days seem to be better.
Would you go to work and never acknowledge the people you work around or maybe not say anything until just before quitting time? Do you go into work and say to the boss, “Hi….._______. How are you doing?”
Well, that’s what I do, just acknowledging my boss. So…..
